GLOBALSIM DELIVERS FIRST FIVE ATLAS II FORKLIFT TRAINING SIMULATORS

Draper, Utah, December 15, 2008 – GlobalSim recently delivered and installed five ATLAS II Forklift Trainers to the US Army at Ft. Eustis in Virginia. GlobalSim is the world leader in simulation training systems for the crane and material handling equipment industry.

The ATLAS II simulators are being used as training aids for the new ATLAS II 10,000 lb Rough Terrain Forklift used by the US Army. These simulators were developed under contract with JLG Industries, Inc., manufacturers of the ATLAS II. GlobalSim was selected by JLG to provide the training simulators for the program because of their superior training systems technology and wide array of material handling training products.

The new ATLAS II Forklift Trainers feature SimFusionTM, a patented new software system that ties multiple simulators together. “SimFusionTM enables operators in different simulators to work in the same simulated arena together where they can see each other and react to situations more likely to occur in the actual real-life environment,” said Clyde M. Stauffer IV, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for GlobalSim.

The ATLAS II Forklift Trainer utilizes the flexible MasterLiftTM base design to provide a training system that exceeds the stringent demands of the US Army. In addition, the architecture of the technology is adaptable enough to provide for easy implementation of future upgrades as training requirements evolve.

“These simulators enable our students to get the most effective training capability for the best price,” said Bill Elburn, training director for the U.S. Army Transportation School. “The different simulator configurations give our student operators the ability to move from performing simple operations in a controlled environment to mastering complex operator tasks without the risk of injury to the student or damage to equipment. We use portable systems to teach the basics and these fully integrated systems to train operators on the more advanced skills.”

“GlobalSim has been leading the industry with advanced commercial simulation products for many years”, said Mr. Stauffer. “The ATLAS II Forklift Trainer is another example of a system that leverages the flexible base design of the MasterLiftTM product line."

GlobalSim offers a wide range of trainer configurations including portable, mid-size, and full-sized configurable systems. Depending on the customer's specific needs, GlobalSim can deliver a new simulator within 180 days. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, GlobalSim has successfully developed extremely advanced systems that are significantly more affordable than previous solutions.
