TRANSNET ORDERS TWO MORE ML4000s FOR SOUTH AFRICAN PORTS

Draper, Utah, December 1, 2008 – GlobalSim, the world leader in simulation training systems for the crane and material handling equipment industry, recently received an order from Transnet for two additional ML4000 Crane Training Simulators. Transnet manages cargo and terminal operations for all major South African ports.

The ML4000 is a fully reconfigurable immersive training system with a realistic student/operator cab, five visual channels, and a three degree-of-freedom motion system. The two new Transnet units come with two crane models for a Ship-to-Shore Gantry Crane and a Rubber Tyred Gantry Crane. Transnet purchased their first ML4000 in 2007. It was installed at the Port of Durban earlier this year. The new ML4000s will be installed in standard 40’ containers and delivered to Port Elizabeth and the port at Cape Town.

GlobalSim offers a wide range of trainer configurations including portable, mid-size, and full-sized reconfigurable systems. Depending on the customer's specific needs, GlobalSim can deliver a new simulator within 180 days. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, GlobalSim has successfully developed extremely advanced systems that are considerably more affordable than previous solutions.
