GlobalSim, Inc. is a privately held company based in Salt Lake City, Utah with a rich history in the simulation industry. The company was founded in the early nineties by a group of talented engineers and computer software experts. Early on, the company developed an excellent reputation by designing and manufacturing various systems including flight simulators, driving simulators, and specially designed training systems for military equipment.
In the late nineties the company began developing crane simulators and delivering them to construction unions, port authorities and training centers throughout the world. Today GlobalSim is regarded as the industry leader in the field of crane simulation and we continue to develop simulators and new training technology for crane operators.
In 2008 GlobalSim was acquired by Kongsberg, a multinational company based in Norway. As a largely independent division of Kongsberg, GlobalSim continued to develop its technology and deliver systems throughout the world, while occasionally partnering with our parent company on various projects.
In 2011, GlobalSim delivered it’s largest ever simulator in the world to L’Agence Nationale des Ports (ANP) in Casablanca, Morocco. This flagship system features a suspended cabin with a full motion system in a 10 meter dome with 12 projectors. It provides training to crane operators throughout Morocco and North Africa. It is one of dozens of training facilities throughout the world that use GlobalSim simulators.
In 2016, GlobalSim initiated a management-buy-out and spun off from Kongsberg to once again be an independent company. Today GlobalSim continues to provide premier quality simulators and training systems to training organizations throughout the world.
