GlobalSim has long been known as one of the leaders in crane simulation. We build and sell a wide range of crane simulators, from versatile desktop systems, to full motion platforms – including some of the largest crane simulators ever built. We have highly experienced R&D, engineering, account management and support teams committed to designing, manufacturing, installing, and supporting crane simulators. The crane simulators we build range from Port Cranes such as the STS, RTG, and Mobile Harbor Crane, to Construction Cranes such as the Mobile Lattice, and Tower Crane Models. GlobalSim is also the world leader in military crane simulators.
When it comes to crane simulator software, quality is important. Proper equipment will imitate the feeling and practical operation of a crane in real life, in a variety of scenarios. The swing with different weight, as well as environmental factors like wind, create complex conditions that operators need to learn to accommodate. An effective crane simulator will include 3D visuals, software physics calculation, controls that feel and act like real crane controls, and instructor software that allows teachers to manipulate scenarios and monitor student’s progress
Virtual Crane Models
One of the core competencies of GlobalSim is the virtual library of crane models that our software engineers have built, modified, and perfected over the course of many years. From port cranes, to customized military cranes, our experts have created dozens of models for realistic simulation for organizations all over the world. Our crane models feature high resolution graphics combined with realistic controls. Our proprietary models accurately simulate the physics and motion that real crane operators experience while in a crane cabin.
For premium level crane simulation, a quality motion base is a high priority. GlobalSim uses premier motion systems that include a full cabin 3DOF (Degree of Freedom) and 6DOF system. Our motion systems move the entire cabin (including the visual displays) not just the operators chair. The result is a realistic, life-like motion experience that provides the correct training cues and doesn’t cause motion sickness.
What are The Benefits of Crane Simulators?
Crane operation is one of the most needed and valued skills in the industry. Operating this heavy machinery requires hours of hands-on experience in varied scenarios. Crane simulators allow students to get similar experience without risks to expensive equipment or safety to personnel. While nothing can truly replace the experience of being in the seat of a crane, simulators have been proven to greatly reduce training time.
Your equipment is expensive and while it’s far from fragile, you could still do without the significant wear and tear that students in training tend to inflict. One facility making the switch to simulators for training claimed that they saved $645,000 in training costs. Over time, those savings will be even more significant.
One thing that you simply can’t put a price tag on, though, is safety. Protecting your workers is one of your most important priorities, and one of the best ways you can do that is through nurturing their training in appropriate phases. Crane simulators allow students to go through varied scenarios, from low visibility to high wind, all without risking their safety.
What Range of Crane Simulators are Available?
Long known as the experts in premium crane simulation, our product offering is unlimited on the high-end of the crane simulator market. We sell our standard Full Mission product which is a premium level system and has been installed in dozens of locations throughout the world. Additionally we offer customized dome-based systems that can be built to suit any ambitious plan for a training center. Our flagship system is a 10-meter high dome system with a suspended 6DOF cabin located in Casablanca, Morocco. This crane simulator is the largest in the world.
GlobalSim also offers mid-range and entry level simulators for smaller organizations or training centers that desire a smaller or more portable simulation system. In 2013, GlobalSim introduced the Essential Crane Simulator, a highly configurable simulator capable of providing excellent simulation on multiple crane models. The Essential Crane Simulator can be configured with as many as 7 visual channels or as few as one channel. This cost-effective crane simulator platform is ideal for smaller organizations that can’t afford a top-of- the-line simulator but still require a professional training tool. Plus the Essential Crane Simulator can include an instructor station for creating and editing training scenarios as well as recording student performance.
In late 2016, GlobalSim introduced it’s virtual reality crane simulator which replaces traditional visual channels with a headset. This technology offers an unlimited field of view and is an option for organizations that desire a smaller, yet versatile simulator in a virtual setting.
