KQ Corporation Emerges as GlobalSim, Indicating
Strategic Shift in Market Focus
Salt Lake City -- May 13, 2002 --
KQ Corporation announced today a change in its corporate name to GlobalSim. The name
change signals a transition from its focus on simulator systems engineering to
its focus on advanced training services in the worldwide transportation and equipment operator markets. This strategic shift in focus positions the company to serve high growth markets with products and services that can enable customers to significantly increase their profitability.
"The new company name reflects the worldwide markets we are addressing
with this strategic shift in our business," said Kevin L. Curtis, President
and
CEO of GlobalSim. "We will be making a number of announcements in the coming
weeks that will detail our strategy for leveraging our simulation expertise
and
technology into some very attractive market opportunities."
GlobalSim's products and services stem from the work of its core
engineering
team, recognized as experts in their field for developing high-fidelity
simulators in military, commercial, and research applications. Recent
advances make it affordable to use this advanced training capability in
areas never before possible.
GlobalSim has been in business since 1993. Its roots come from Jason
Associates Corporation and Hyperion Technologies. These companies merged
in
December 2000. Revenues for the company have grown consistently for each
of
the past five years. Its executive team averages over 15 years
experience in
leading technology organizations including Mentor Graphics Corporation,
Evans & Sutherland, Eyring Research Labs, and MyFamily.com. Plans
include
the addition of key finance and marketing executives.
GlobalSim's historical products include its DriveSafety Research product
line of driving simulators and its MasterLift product line of material
handling and crane simulators. "These product lines represent the best
in
their class and establish the foundation upon which our new business
strategy is built," said Douglas F. Evans, Executive Vice President and
General Manager of GlobalSim's DriveSim Business Unit. "Both of these
products have achieved remarkable success, leading their respective
markets.
Our new company name speaks to the fact that we are delivering products
and
services to customers around the world."
GlobalSim has been developing affordable advanced simulator-based
training
systems since 1993. Offices are located in Colorado, Utah, and Virginia.
