GlobalSim is pleased to announce it has contracted with Terminaux de Normandie- member of Terminal Investment Limited to build a custom Full Mission Crane Simulator which will be used to train crane operators in Le Havre, France.

The new simulator will train STS operators and be equipped with a customized articulating tandem spreader, specific to the equipment used in the terminal.

“GlobalSim is excited about the project with Terminaux de Normandie. This is a unique project with some detailed customizations – our software engineers and graphic designers are already collaborating with representatives from the terminal.  We expect the end product to feature an incredibly detailed virtual environment that goes beyond an accurate simulation of the crane, but also provides an incredible amount of details and customizations specific to the terminal in Le Havre.”  remarks GlobalSim Vice President, Brad Ball. “This project will push our team as we incorporate the latest technology into the simulator – but we’re confident of a successful outcome.”

For Frank Narbonne, COO Terminaux de Normandie “This simulator is essential to our ongoing development project which ultimately plans to deploy 18 to 20 new, latest-generation quayside cranes, thus enabling the planned tripling of our terminal volumes. This training tool replicates the characteristics of our 97X series gantries, the largest in the world, but also, and above all, the exact processes of their tandem lift operations. We are delighted to be supported by GlobalSim, a long-standing partner in Le Havre, to carry out this operators training and upgrading programs, thanks to their high standards in simulators”.

The simulator is currently being built and tested at GlobalSim’s headquarters near Salt Lake City, Utah. It is expected to be installed and operational in France during Summer 2025.
