GlobalSim to Speak and Exhibit New VR Motion System at Upcoming TOC Europe Conference

GlobalSim to Speak and Exhibit

GlobalSim, Inc. is excited to once again, exhibit at TOC Europe in Rotterdam June 12-14th. This conference is designed specifically for port and terminal professionals who want to stay up-to-date with the latest advances in terminal operations and container handling technology. GlobalSim will showcase their new Essential Virtual Reality (VR) Simulator on a motion base.

GobalSim’s new VR motion system simulator will feature a straddle carrier model with a motion base for the demonstration at TOC. The motion base provides correct cues and contributes to the feeling of realism. The straddle carrier operates in a custom arena that has a quay area with an autonomous STS crane, a large container stacking area, and a truck loading and unloading area. The advanced simulation system offers the most realistic virtual training for crane operators to practice typical operations such as: lift, move, stack or unstack various containers.

Additionally, GlobalSim’s Brad Ball, VP Sales and Marketing, will be speaking along with Ann Baats, OCHA training manager, at TOC Europe. Both will be speaking at the conference in the session scheduled, “Virtual Reality and What It Means for Ports.” Crane simulators are used by some of the largest terminal operators and port authorities in the world. As technology continues to advance, it is important to find new training methods to keep crane operators sharp. Brad and Ann will provide insight on the importance of how VR training gives ports the ability to train crane operators by reaching real-world crane operational skills and control familiarization quickly and effectively.

Participants at the TOC Europe will be able to experience first-hand how VR is interactive and affordable to ports all around the world at GlobalSim’s booth #B24. It offers the most realistic training environment, along with real industrial controls, and state-of-the-art visual modelling.
